
Diplom Informatiker, Research Assistant
Andreas Liehr is a PhD student at the Universität der Bundeswehr München. He also holds a masters degree (Diplom-Informatiker) in computer science from this university. Before he started his academic education, he took part in the officer training program of the German army. He currently holds the rank of a captain and is still on active duty as research assistant for the German Armed Forces University.
His research interests comprise the theory and praxis of simulation, performance modeling of computer based systems, hardware / software codesign, and several topics concerning Internet based technologies.
Since 2006, he is an elected member of the Senate and the advisory board of the Universität der Bundeswehr München. He was reelected in 2008.
In 2008, he became a visiting researcher at the Lehrstuhl für Rechnertechnik und Rechnerorganisation of the Department of Informatics at the Technische Universität München.
From October to November 2008, he lectured as visiting professor at the State College of Computer Science and Business Administration in Lomza, Poland.
